A long time member in Ember's tribe, Bane was always respected as a diligent hunter and provider. Not everyone liked him for his personality, but he was a pair of hands where needed and rarely returned from a hunt without prey, even when the prey was scarce. He never openly criticized his chief, but still kept a distance between himself and the human pets. Sometimes his temper even kept a distance between him and some tribesmen.
For many turns, he was lifemated with an elf maiden called Skyshine, and most elves who left with Wolfdancer would remember them as inseparable. As time passed, things got tenser and tenser between the two. Finally something happened between them that caused the pair to go separate ways. What happened stayed between them, but the two of them never reconciled. In the end it was too much for the short-tempered Bane, who took the chance to leave the tribe with the others that left to look for the splinter tribe. He only ever had patience when it came to hunting, and after falling out with Skyshine he became even moodier than before. He continues to be a troublesome companion, even though it has been a long time since he left Ember's tribe.
In Oakleaf Holt Bane has made some friends and annoyed more elves than he'd like to admit, but he has found a place in the new tribe. A maiden called Vixen tried to attain his attentions and Bane unintentionally led her on for a longest time. In the end Vixen ended up leaving the tribe, and Bane has found that she was a good friend whose spot isn't easy to fill. He has been working to slowly get over his former life in Ember's tribe, filling his days with duties and trying to connect with the tribe that isn't always approving of his temper and manners. He has found a friend in Tenderleaf and tries to reach out to his other tribemates as well.
