[&]History:
Saleen is the quiet mate of Feisal and the doting mother of Leyna. Like her mother, she has passed on the knowledge of herblore to her daughter which was a perfect pairing for the teachings Feisal passed on to their daughter. In her youth, she was a painfully shy young maiden who devoted herself to the teachings Talya taught her of the herblore and many ways to prepare herbs, venoms and minerals to serve as a pseudo healer while the tribe had none. Their golden needles and silken threads saved many a life and limb but sadly they were no substitute for a true healer.
It was one such failure that drew her to the attention of the spirit mender, Vashti who noticed the turmoil roiling off the young woman as she watched them burn the body of her brother, Sikeen. Guilt and rage rolled off the girl like a black miasma and it was only later, through many sessions with the elder, that Vashti came to understand the reason for the girl's pain. A terrible misunderstanding between her overprotective brother and her erstwhile lovemate had led to the wolf's attack that claimed Sikeen's life.
Time and careful monitoring allowed the girl to slowly move past her pain; eventually she forgave herself for the vicious wolf attack that claimed her sibling's life, though she remained forever sundered from the jackwolfrider who'd once been in her heart. In truth, it took many years before she was comfortable around the wolfblooded members of the tribe again. She devoted herself to further understand the lessons Vashti was willing to teach about maintaining inner tranquility. Delving deep, she sought to master the mantras that Vashti had learned long ago from the Mother of Memory who once served as matriarch of the ancient Sun Village.
And on occasion, she would dance, learning as many of the traditional Sun Village ways as she could from the last remaining Sun Villager in the plainsrunners' midst. Counter to the rest of her contemporaries, the brush with death left Saleen less shy, but more reserved and introspective. While many of the other maidens beckoned and frolicked with whoever caught their fancy for an evening, Saleen's focus was wholly upon her studies and upon mastering herself and her emotions.
She grew to have a very strong will, which eventually manifested itself through the unexpected boon of plantshaping magic. Eager to put her newfound gifts to use, she devoted herself to her work, unaware of the admire that found her resolve as enticing.
Feisal , Vashti's young protege, was enthralled with the quiet maiden, noting that behind the shy personality and the quiet demeanor lay an iron will, motivated with a vision of attainable perfection and the desire to never make the same mistakes twice. A philosophy he could understand well. Failure was unacceptable in both of their eyes. It was many moons before Saleen noticed the interested gaze that watched over her but during a Festival of Colors, they truly saw one another for the first time and understood the kindredness they shared.
They began to spend more and more time together after this, delighting in philosophical debates and puzzles of morality. In less than a decade they declared themselves a mated pair and though they did not Recognize, they were nearly as close as a Recognized pair might be. Perhaps it is this closeness that afforded them the joys of a child - a son, whom they named Rahim, a healthy lad with a swath of silver hair, bright blue eyes and his sire’s deep bronzed skin.
Nearly 700 years later he was joined by an unexpected younger sister, Leyna, who was the apple of her sire's eye and doted upon by mother and brother alike.
But trouble was brewing on the horizon. A new leader took power of the Plainsrunners, Araf the warmonger. His rule would plunge their people into the midst of turmoil, chaos and an unnecessary war that both Faisal and Saleen realized they wanted no part of. When the young upstart, Tusk challenged and lost his right to rule, they knew his days were numbered. Araf would accept no challenge to his authority - he might be willing to cross the line and kill another elf to retain his power as uncontested.
Knowing this, the duo decided to join Tusk when he split from the main tribe to make his own wandering group of cast-offs. Intending for their whole family to be freed of Araf's tyranny, Saleen was devastated when her eldest child chose to stay behind. Having gained Araf's trust over the centuries, Rahim was wary of double-crossing him; as part of Araf's cadre, he could not be certain that his leaving would not be the tipping point to set Araf after the splinter group. The best way to keep the warmonger in check was to stay on as his counsel and friend. He had other reasons as well, but he would not reveal them even to his mother. Saleen's observant eyes had a knowing glint in them when she last hugged her son and looked upon him before they parted ways.
In the new tribe Saleen found herself busy providing herbs, poultices and powders for various remedies as Leyna continued to hone her healing abilities. As Leyna's skill grew, Saleen found herself shifting focus and helping with weaving and clothing the tribe - and of course, there were always her beautiful plants to tend and the harvest to encourage!
She currently serves as an elder and tries to counsel the proud, sometimes arrogant wolf-blooded chief, Tusk. Despite her distrust of wolves and seeming apprehension around the wolf-blooded, she has tried to be a useful member of her new tribe though her first priority is always to her family, it’s prosperity and happiness.

Any other information: Double-jointed and ambidextrous. She usually wears a shawl over her body and a veil over her face. There's usually a living vine wrapped around her body somewhere - often threaded through her hair. This is a hybrid plant she's cultivated over many years and is a rare form of succulent that occasionally blooms with red flowers and bright green sprouts.
(This plant is a magically enhanced variant of an Adenium Rose who's caudex is hidden amid Saleen's hair.)
((EDITS: 9/1/2016 - History revamp in lighter blue; Feisal and Saleen are lifemated but not Recognized. Changed Saleen's brother's name from "Merric" to "Sikeen". Made mention of Saleen's mentorship by Vashti; changed the age difference between Leyna and Rahim to be approximately 700 years instead of 300 since lack of recognition would make the likelihood of a second child much further apart.
