[&]Family: Briar (mother, huntress) and Sting (father, beekeeper and gatherer).
[&]History: Honey’s parents didn’t care for each other before they recognized, and their relationship didn’t become much better after having answered the call. Some might say that opposites attract but Briar and Sting were too different to get along. Sting thought that Briar was too restless and carefree and Sting, ever cool and patient, was like a bur in Briar’s hair. They tried to resist the recognition for a long while. The only thing that finally made them share furs was the fact that Sting was unable to focus on his bees and Briar’s drifting mind had become a liability on hunts. The unlikely pair joined and when their cub came into the world, squalling and with hair as golden red as a sunrise, they disagreed on everything from his name to who would raise him. The only thing they could agree on was that he possessed a soul name. The Plainsrunners tribe took a vote on his name and all agreed on Honeycomb, seeing as he liked the sweet stuff and Sting’s bees didn’t mind him. Honey ended up being raised mostly by Sting, seeing as Briar didn’t have much of a nurturing instinct though she did love her son and liked being near him.
Honey had a relatively carefree, peaceful childhood but his parent’s inability to get along even at small matters affected him a lot. He became somewhat wary of recognition, seeing it as a resentful force that forced people together who didn’t match and made them have cubs they –initially- hadn’t wanted. As he grew older he adopted a more diplomatic view on recognition, though he still persisted in the fact that it was – and is – not for him. Bonding and joining out of love rather than obligation became very important to him, and he sees recognition not as a gift but as a shackle. When Honey was fully grown and had been trained as a beekeeper by his father, the tripe split in two. Honey went with Tusk and his parents left with the original tribe as they couldn’t imagine having a new chief. Their son had very mixed feelings about them leaving, part of him wanting them to be happy while the other part resented them for leaving him. He only wished them well, though, without actually saying any of the things he wanted to. Since then Honey hasn’t liked much to talk about his parents and doing so can cause some brooding, but otherwise he is a happy, freedom-loving elf with a lot of patience and plenty of compassion to go around.
[&]Often seen wearing: he likes clothes in dusty brown, blue and purple colors. His favourite look is a tunic in light fabrics with strings for tightening down the front, gauntlets, long pants and a pair of comfy boots. When working with the bees he wears thick leather gloves. He has a delicate piece of jewellery made from gold that he puts on his left ear for when he wants to look festive.
[&]Body: Has a scar on his stomach from one time when he fell off a cliff and scraped against some rather pointy bits, as well as some smaller ones his bees have made when he wasn’t careful.
[&]Height/Build: Tall and lithe, 4’2 in high. He has developed some muscles from lifting his heavy equipment.
[&]Hair: long, soft and strawberry blonde. His preferred style is to gather it into a loose-fitting ponytail so he can keep the strands out of his eyes.
[&]Eyes: very dark brown.
[&]Picture:
[&]Bonded animal: Bumblebee, a jackwolf. He’s gotten his name because his fur is a dark brown color dusted with lighter spots that are almost yellow. He is a young wolf who still has a lot to learn about pack order, so he sometimes gets in fights with the higher ranking wolves because he acts out of his status. Mostly he’s just a gentle and playful wolf who likes being around cubs - both wolf - and elfcubs.
[&]Bond age: 4.
