[&]History: Mermiah was a result of Recognition between pure-blooded male Rigine and a wolf-blooded wild huntress Rockbite. Rigine had always had a mild antipathy towards the wolf-blooded ones, so he tried to deny the Recognition until the very end, not wanting his offspring to be mortal and face growing old and dying of old age.

However, Rigine finally had to give in, because denying the Recognition was harming both him and Rockbite. Rockbite was not a mother-figure, who would have been much present in Mermiah's life. She died in a wild hunting accident when Mermiah was barely 3 years old. This only drove Rigine to take Mermiah to the healer the tribe had back then, and request Mermiah's wolf-blood to be removed. The healer was not too willing, but after some pressuring, they finally agreed to do it. Mermiah had no memory of this 'clean-up', except for having a weird, vague longing for a bond which she can't have, and occasional wild dreams. The removal of wolf-blood caused a bit of a backlash towards Rigine, so the male decided it was time to change tribes -- they joined the current Plainsrunner tribe a little later on.
 
The child grew very sheltered, even smothered, but learned from the tribe's embroiderers of the patterns and arts of the embroidery. Elion, mother of Kata and Malaki, was her biggest teacher.
After Elion's passing, Mermiah has taken the role of embroiderer, catching up tent-making and patching as well.

Rigine died of a wide-spread sickness. On his deathbed, Mermiah's father admitted to his daughter that she had been once wolf-blooded, but that the blood had been removed for her own sake. Mermiah did not want to part with her father in ill blood, so she forgave him.

Liking to learn of new things, the embroiderer understood she can't be making tents or embroidering all the time, so she turned to Bihon, asking if he could teach her to make cheese. The male admitted he is not much of a teacher, but was willing to give it a go.

During the years, Mermiah formed a close friendship with her teacher Bihon and his mate Honeycomb.
Honeycomb's death struck her like a lightning, but it brought her closer to Bihon. Together, they mourned the loss of their lover and friend, and in his honor, have tried to take care of his bees.

Warm seasons: Light, sandy brown dress with green fern embroidery details on the hem and sleeves, and a scarf to match the dress. Light shoes.

Colder seasons: Thicker, woolen dress, with long woolen underwear beneath. Outside, she wears a cream white capelet with boysenberry embroidery details. Also loves to bundle up with mittens and scarves. Sturdier boots.
