History:
The first child of Cascade, Lagoon wasn't born from Recognition and somewhere it showed. He was a stumbling pip who had trouble with finding his footing among the pod, seeking a purpose or a skill which he could excel in. Though loved by his mother and other relatives, he didn't know his father all that well. Sea Nettle was a restless soul and was often away from the pod to seek his destiny elsewhere, much to Cascade's dismay. Noticing the same restlessness within her son as he grew up, Cascade was determined to try and keep Lagoon by her side and within the pod while always awaiting for Sea Nettle's return. Her closeness and motherly care played a big part in Lagoon's development and he became a kind hearted soul like his mother; the only price which came along with the loving devotion was that he relied too much on her throughout his youth.
His father he did not care for. He was aware Sea Nettle was his sire, but his short stays and long absences had him see him more as a far relative. His uncle Sunset had become his sire's replacement though Lagoon was well aware that Sunset could never be a true father and he had made peace with it.
His little brother on the other hand was a good distraction from any thoughts involving Sea Nettle and also a means to prove that he didn't take after his father in behavior or lifestyle as he watched over Spindrift whenever he could spare one eye or both.
The restless touch he had while growing up settled when Lagoon discovered the capabilities to shapeshift. The opportunity to have a tail and explore the depths of the seas, reefs and lagoons the Wavedancers traveled through were a new joy and opened up several paths for him to take. He took a liking to deep diving and filled the role as a gatherer for the pod. The new opportunities made him less dependent on his mother and more stable in life, though he remained close to her and eventually took over the care as she was slowly withering away, waiting for Sea Nettle to return... which he never did. She had become a fragile beauty of the sea with a broken heart, the waiting for her love tearing at her mind and making her delusional. She eventually gave herself to the sea where she found peace.
The loss of his mother weighed heavy on Lagoon, but he understood it. Knowing she was better off with the other beloved dead, he shared his caring nature with the rest of the pod and unlike his little brother, he didn't hide his feelings about the loss. A daydreamer, he was an odd fish in the bunch but he made up for it the best he could.
When the humans attacked turns later and the Wavedancers suffered heavy losses, Lagoon didn't fight but instead made sure any wounded or frightened elves were brought to safety with the help of his tail. He swam deep and he swam far every single time with a survivor until it was safe enough for all those who lived to gather and seek a new home.
During the new pod's first Spawning, his two long-time crushes, Leaena and Ailani, became soul siblings and the three formed a triad. To add to this happiness, Lagoon's brother Spindrift Recognized Brook. Lagoon is greatly looking forward to becoming an uncle!
Often seen wearing: Very little. Mostly wears only a loincloth when it comes to clothes to not be limited during swimming or shapeshifting but has a few accessories to make up for it. A bone necklace and simple armlets. He also wears a belt which holds a few satchels and a shell which functions as a horn.
Hair: Golden brown. Mid-shoulder blade length, but usually tied up into a bun with loose strands around his face.
Eyes: Honey colored.
Appearance: Tall and lean with a long silk-like dorsal fin across his spine which when having a tail continues on across the length of the tail. His fingers and toes are webbed while his ears are shaped like that of the original Wavedancers. The tail is a deep orange with some lighter blotches, similar to that of a koi carp or a goldfish.
