History:

Danik is the younger brother of playful, thrill seeking Eryk. He was born after his mother chose a lifemate. Being the new son, he and Eryk had tough times at first getting along. Eryk was resentful of Danik and Danik was scared of Eryk. When Oryn injured himself, Danik's mother nursed him back to health. During that time, Danik spent many hours talking with Oryn and grew to look up to him as well as Eryk. Although wanting to emulate Eryk, he often found himself sitting and talking with Oryn, that is until Eryk drags him off again for another adventure. He often seeks advice from Oryn, and sometimes Ruska.

Danik spent his youth watching his brother act out. He thought that maybe his brother hated him, but they came to an agreement one day after Eryk had taken a particularly bird-brained risk and Danik had saved his butt. He identified more with his quieter older brother, but has a soft spot for his outrageous and wild older sibling. He secretly wants to be like him, and wishes he was so fun and easy to speak to. Danik was calm and collected to his brother's loud and risky. He doesn't mind being indoors, actually enjoys it. But he also likes to roam the wilderness with his brother. He has grown over the years to think he has to keep an eye on his brother and keep him out of trouble. The shy quiet elf was drawn to the elks and the equally silent Ruska. He liked the quiet calm of the pens, and the animals were easier to get along with than people. Elks did not expect him to have a conversation. And neither did Ruska

Preferring to be indoors, unless the elks or his brother need him, Danik has tried his hand at many inside skills, sewing, dice, crafting and leather repair to name a few. If it required long hours inside, Danik had tried his hand at it. he found that he was good at things requiring focus and patience. He tried hard to teach his brother about patience, and on snowy days when the weather is bad, you can find the two of them together, betting one another something that they can't do something. Danik lets Eryk egg him on, he likes when his brother is hanging out with him. And doesn't want to let his brother get into trouble without him. Eryk may just need him. He isn't entirely afraid of the outdoors and like every go-back he has received weapons training. He found he was good with a hand axe and shield combo. Strategic in battle he likes to pick his strikes, save his energy, and try to use his surroundings to help himself out. The end of the war brought far less weapons training and gave Danik the time to pursue other interests like farming and elk herding. He spent several turns mapping out the surrounding area to the lodge and cultivation of wild vegetables and fruits.

He met Swifteye on one of his many trips into the wilds who opened up his world in a way that he had never known it could be. Slowly gaining more confidence and growing more of a spine he grew to proud of his lack of fighting skills and his actual strengths in in mundane and seemingly innocuous tasks. He grew distant from his brother over time and now they have trouble talking. Being swept up in what was going on in his own life and his budding relationship he has given his brother more space now than he ever has before. An animal attack killed his brother which caused Danik to bury himself in keeping busy. He found himself in the wilds he used to explore with his brother. A chance encounter with Daryl led to the building of the greenhouse the tribe now uses to grow food and medicines.

The thrill of combat excites him and he struggles to come to terms with a violent side he has hidden in himself. The war revealed his little secret and he has since been determined not to let it affect his relationships. The brutality of the most recent war left him shaken and unsure about that part of himself. He lost a finger on his left hand during the last war and dealt with depression while he recovered. His lovemate pulled him out of it with her loving support. After a confrontation with Zeel that gave him a bit more confidence and a shaky drama involving Garech and his lovemate Danik has grown into his own far more than he had before meeting her.
