Personality:
-She tends to have an abrasive personality, being quick to criticism, straightforward and blunt, and also somewhat pessimistic. However, underneath her rough exterior she can be quite caring and kind - breaking through her hard exterior is the hardest part.
-She tends to be a loner most of the time, staying almost entirely under the water. However, she loves to attend tribal celebrations and gatherings, often watching from the sidelines.
+She loves pips, having lost her own long ago (almost nothing makes her happier; her sweeter side comes out around young ones)

History: Fereng is one of the oldest elves in her arctic-dwelling tribe of Wavedancers. Long ago, when she was much younger, she Recognized with another Wavedancer from another passing pod, and bore a child from the mating. They did not share much affection for each other, but had no hard feelings either - they simply were not interested in staying together, and he left with his pod. She bore her pip the following season of Longdays, only to lose him 4 or 5 turns later to a human whaler attack on her tribe. She was devastated, and changed her form permanently to her current one, leaving the pod for several turns. No one knows what she did while she was gone, but she came back changed - colder and harsher, but much more skilled at hunting and fighting. Now she operates as her pod's weapons-maker and head hunter, often leaving for days to return with several seal skins or news of a white-bear she killed not far from her pod's home.

When her sister's family was attacked by a saw-tooth and killed, leaving her nephew Murre as the only survivor, she took him on as her own apprentice and keeps a watch on him as his only remaining family member. 

Often seen wearing: She wears the tail of the "saw-tooths" (orcas/killer whales) so prevalent in her pod's homeland. This includes a dorsal fin that flares out from her lower back, just above her navel. She also has two smaller fins that come out from her lower hips/upper thighs. She wears a sleeveless woven "chest plate" of seal leather that ends below her bust (leaving her waist exposed), with a simple curved collar that just covers the top of her breasts. She has seal leather arm bracers that come up 2/3 of her forearm. She also wears a band of the same thick leather around her head, just below her hair. She also wears a hooded poncho of mottled grey seal fur when swimming to the deeper depths of the ocean, and during the colder months. She has "gills" on either side of her neck, but these are merely for releasing air from her lungs. Added to her by a healer, the gills help her to dive more deeply. She breathes as whales do - able to hold her breath for close to 20 minutes, but needing to come up for air instead of breathing through water. Her ears are less ornate than most Wavedancers, with barely-scalloped edges and normal earlobes.

Hair:
Her hair is long and straight, coming down to her shoulders. The color is a pure snow white, matching the white markings of her "saw-tooth" fins and tail.

Eyes:
Blue and clear, like ice. Her eyes often appear "hard", as there is usually a serious or critical expression on her face.

Any other information: Her weapon of choice is a spear, made from a long wooden pole lashed with leather straps to a long tip of whale bone, mimicking the whaling spears she has seen humans use. She often carries this around with her, slung to her back by a long leather strap.
