Talon was born to Londa and Fast-Track, both jackwolf-riders. Fast-Track was the product of a full-blooded wolfrider and a jackwolf-rider, and as a result had more wolf-blood than many of the jackwolf-riders among the Plainsrunners. He passed this on to Talon, but did not stay long with the Plainsrunners as he never quite felt at home with them. Talon took his leaving quite hard as a cub, and vowed that if he ever had his own cubs he would never leave them behind.

A rambunctious youngling, Talon grew up knowing and embracing his wolf blood. He bonded with a jackwolf when he was very young, and grew into his role of hunter and protector of his Tribe. When Araf took the chiefship from the previous chief, Talon watched with concern as his mother became more hardened as a warrior, blaming her minimal wolf-blood as the reason why Fast-Track left them. Though the pair practiced long hours together, Talon never took it as seriously or as far as his mother, who grew more and more distant from him.

At the point where Araf decided to begin raiding human caravans and killing those who traveled in them, Talon put his hands up and backed away. That was not their Way, and as much as he didn’t know what the Ways of the Wolfriders actually were, he knew in his heart that killing humans out of revenge was wrong. He pleaded with Londa to leave with them when the Tribe split, but she was determined to show Fast-Track (should he ever return) that she was just as strong as he was. Talon departed from her with sorrow, but knowing that he could better protect the small Tribe that left with him than the ones who foolishly risked their lives for nothing.


Often seen wearing: see picture below – a light-green long vest with a hood, shorts with a sun motif on them, bracers, sandals. Colors usually in green, brown, and yellow to match the grasses.

Body: Talon has two scars on his body, an X on his shoulder and one across his chest from the claws of a grass-cat.

Height/Build: Average height for a male, with a lithe but muscular build. Think surfers.

Hair: reddish brown, short and spikey
